Dyslexia
You constrict my thoughts and invade my brain
Conquering the order in which these words came
Swelling like a blister in the sun
My comprehension is undone
Obnoxious and glaring like a child
I cannot think or bare to feel
For you have captured me in an iron grip of steel
Twisting and turning like an unwinding road
I feel my brain may explode
Disruption followed by a vague, utter delusion
Feeling small, no longer able to speak at all
Without these words I begin to feel so small
I can’t look back, these words will taunt me
Staring back is a vacant lot of letters desperate to be free
Don’t lose track, decode this message
Avoiding confusion I sigh, sigh, sigh
Without any words my freedom will die
With too many rules to follow
My grasp of grammar is hard to swallow
Each equation of letter to word cannot be met
I refuse to give up my dreams for this constraint
My conception of learning words in the past seems faint
I must move forward and refuse to look back
I can’t let this disorder hold me back
Success will be near as long as I remember: I before E except after C.
